EMC Symmetrix 5000 Storage Systems are the industry's most proven mainframe storage solution, fully supported on all IBM and IBM-compatible mainframes to offer unsurpassed levels of performance, capacity, availability and manageability to the mainframe storage environment.

The highly scalable Symmetrix 5000 series offers a range from 35GB to multiple terabytes of fully protected storage, and mainframe connectivity through ESCON, parallel or block multiplexor channels. When optional Symmetrix ESP (Enterprise Storage Platform) software is installed, Symmetrix 5000 systems can simultaneously support open UNIX, Windows NT and AS/400 systems.
